Gunnedah Shire Library is a warm and welcoming public space where the community can pursue their love of reading and learning, engage with one another and take part in a variety of programs.
The Library holds books in large print and standard print, audiobooks, magazines and newspapers.
Library members can access a range of e-resources, such as e-books, audiobooks, online databases and learning materials.
Free Wi-Fi and computer bookings are available, as well as printing, photocopying and scanning facilities.
A Justice of the Peace is available to witness signatures.

Commencing Tuesday 4 August 2020, weather permitting, Gunnedah Shire Council will begin an upgrade of the water supply mains in Barber St between Chandos Street and Marquis Street
We aim to significantly improve the water supply system at this location and ask for your understanding during the upgrade.
We endeavour to limit interruptions wherever possible, however unavoidable interruptions to traffic flow, property access and water availability may be experienced intermittently during the construction period.
If you have any special requirements during this period please do not hesitate to contact Council’s Water Services Overseer, Mr Peter Jones on 0427 936 717.

Public Notice Exhibition of Draft Future 2040 – Gunnedah Shire Local Strategic Planning Statement

In accordance with Schedule 1 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Gunnedah Shire Council hereby gives public notice of the exhibition of the draft Future 2040 – Gunnedah Shire Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS).
The LSPS provides a long-term vision for the Gunnedah local government area and sets out planning priorities, principles and actions to accommodate future population growth; support economic development; and protect our important environmental and rural landscapes, diverse heritage and unique social assets.
The LSPS will be on exhibition from 8.30am Wednesday 27 May 2020 to 5pm Thursday 25 June, 2020.
Persons wishing to comment on the LSPS must do so in writing, with submissions addressed to:
