Asbestos

Asbestos fibres are hazardous when inhaled. They can be released into the air when asbestos products are incorrectly handled, removed, stored or transported. It is illegal to re-use, recycle or dispose of asbestos in domestic waste.

Gunnedah Waste Management Facility is licensed to accept Asbestos. Council also has an asbestos policy and further information can be obtained by contacting Council's Customer Service Team on 02 6740 2100.

Council also supports asbestos awareness month.
