Spotlight: Library closing over Christmas and New Year

All eager readers please note that the Library will be closed over the Christmas/New Year period. We will close at 12pm on 23 December, 2022, and will re-open on Monday, 9 January, 2023.

However, don’t despair! You will be able to borrow extra books during this time to tide you over, and if you’ve finished with your books and want to return them, there’s an after-hours chute to the left of the main door where you can return your books; just push the flap open and slide your books through and they’ll be attended to.

Spotlight: eResources!

If you’re going away and don’t want to take any books in case you lose them on your travels, don’t worry, we have you covered! Just borrow some materials from our paperback stand instead of books from the shelves. The paperbacks aren’t catalogued so it doesn’t matter if you leave them in the motel or the caravan park, or even the train!

Spotlight: New titles!

Lots of new books have been added to the Library collection, so you have plenty to choose from during the Christmas break!

Among the new books are Jenny Colgan’s An island and a wedding, described as ‘supremely heartfelt, hilarious and heart rending - an absolute triumph’.

Meanwhile, Carrie Soto is back by Taylor Jenkins Reid is ‘a thrilling, joyful smash hit of a book. You will fall in love with Carrie’. The book follows the story of tennis champion Carrie Soto who makes a comeback to protect her record - just in time for the tennis season!

Fans of historical fiction will enjoy Alison Weir’s Elizabeth of York: The last white rose. The author is ‘excellent on the little details that bring a world to life’.

Dr Norman Swan has written So you want to live younger longer?: the ultimate guide to longevity from Australia’s most trusted doctor. Review comments include, ‘… filled with interesting and important information, it counters the various medical myths, half-truths and internet misconceptions that we all come across’.

For readers who prefer a more visual approach, there’s a new Young Adult graphic novel called Tiny dancer by Sienna Siegel. It’s a novel about coping when your life takes unexpected turns.

See you soon at the Library!
