People’s Choice at Waste into Art

St Mary’s College was awarded People’s Choice in Gunnedah Shire Council’s recent biennial ‘Waste into Art’ Exhibition at the Bicentennial Creative Arts Gallery.

The Gunnedah community had their say and with the majority votes, St Mary’s College with their art work by the Logical Ark Collective. The wooden assemblage piece titled ‘The Ark of Reason’ has been named as the Gunnedah’s People’s Choice Awards for the 2017 ‘Waste into Art’ Exhibition.

“Every two years, Gunnedah Shire Council asks residents to use their imagination and repurpose waste items in to art,” Arts and Cultural Officer Lauren Mackley said.
“It was great to see St Mary’s College students collaborate and be rewarded for their creative efforts.”
