Simpson bridge is situated approximately 2.9 kms from Breeza, on the Breeza-Carrol Road (Clifton Road) or 29.23 kms from Carrol, on the Breeza-Carrol Road (Clifton Road).
Currently Simpson Bridge is a wooden single lane Bridge linking Carroll and Breeza; there are a large number of farming properties that utilise the bridge as with the local school bus.
The project involves building a new dual lane concrete bridge to accommodate the increasing productivity for heavy vehicles such as:
- Higher mass loads
- Reducing costs to access markets
- Reducing travel times
The replacement of Simpson bridge will support greater load limits, enabling heavier vehicles to cross safely saving up to 60km of travel time to the nearest ports and markets.
Business that will benefit will be the Carroll Cotton Gin, Killarney feed lots, private grain operators, and other freight logistics companies throughout the region.
Estimated project cost $2,170,000.00
